Decontaminates, cleans, sterilizes and distributes supplies throughout hospital.
Essential Duties :
This job description is intended to cover the minimum essential duties assigned on a regular basis. Associates may be asked to perform additional duties as assigned by their leader. Leadership has the right to alter or modify the duties of the position. Decontaminating, cleaning, packaging, and sterilizing instruments throughout hospital. Collecting, cleaning and distributing equipment from all patient care areas. Maintains appropriate documentation for all sterile reprocessing. Maintains a clean and safe work environment. Maintains accurate level of supplies and equipment at all times. Maintains standards by participating in in-services, committees, etc. Functions as preceptor to new associates and students. Maintains knowledge of current sterilization standards. Job Requirements General Requirements
  • BLS Certification
  • Sterile Supply Tech Certification Work Experience
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience. Education
  • High School Diploma or GED Specialized Knowledge and Skills
  • Interpersonal skills to effectively and appropriately communicate with patients, families, physicians and other hospital Associates.
  • Basic computer skills to include word processing, databases, EMR, and e-mail.
