Suffolk County Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and dependable Custodial/Janitorial Supervisor to oversee evening cleaning operations at a prestigious private high school in Suffolk County, NY. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who can effectively manage a team, maintain high cleanliness standards, and ensure all facilities are properly maintained.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise and lead a team of 7+ custodial staff members Coordinate and oversee daily cleaning operations to ensure quality standards are met Perform routine inspections of facilities on a weekly basis Train staff on proper cleaning procedures, safety protocols, and equipment use Monitor inventory and request supplies as needed Address and resolve issues proactively to maintain a clean and safe environment Assist with cleaning duties as needed, including floor care and general maintenance

Required Qualifications:

Minimum of 2+ years supervisory experience in custodial or janitorial services (managing 7 or more employees) Strong floor care experience (stripping, waxing, buffing, carpet extraction, etc.)

Bilingual:

English and Spanish required Proven ability to lead, motivate, and manage a team Strong problem-solving skills and proactive work ethic Ability to perform and document regular cleaning inspections

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working in a school or institutional environment Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and cleaning best practices
