Job Requirements General Summary In collaboration with the Director and Manager, assists in the management and leadership of the sleep lab assuring adequate staffing patters, budgetary compliance and performance appraisals. Supervise daily operations of sleep lab. Management of RPSGT Technicians performing lab-based sleep studies. Responsible for developing and implementing strategic and tactical marketing initiatives to ensure the development, growth and on-going enhancement of the PCCAB Sleep Studies Service. Principal Responsibilities and Tasks The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification. They are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of all job duties performed by personnel so classified. 1. Develop and update sleep studies policies and procedures for the sleep center(s) to ensure compliance with AASM accreditation standards and requirements. Assures the environment of care is maintained according to regulatory guidelines. 2. Develop, implement, and enhance the sleep studies testing networking and processing systems to ensure optimal scoring, transmittal, interpretation, efficiency, accuracy. 3. Ensure patient care meets high quality standards. 4. Manage all aspects of the sleep technician staff, training, scheduling, payroll and provide continued training and assistance (i.e. education of techs on device patient set-up; scoring of sleep studies, etc.) 5. Participates in assuring quality patient care through the monitoring of team member/sleep lab performance on an ongoing basis. 6. Provide performance evaluations of staff and communicate area of performance requiring improvement. 7. Perform day/night sleep studies as needed and adhere to standard protocols when performing the studies. 8. Develop and document quantifiable strategies and tactics for sleep studies volume growth. 9. Ensure staff are appropriately certified with BCLS and Registered Polysomnographic credentials. 10. Promotes excellent customer service, acts as a liaison with vendors, and mentors staff to assure customer needs are met or exceeded. 11. Performs periodic Quality Improvement of lab performance per AASM standards and reports to the Medical Director and Sleep Services Manager. 12. Responsible for all supplies and equipment required for proper operation of the sleep lab. 13. Demonstrate ability to analyze complex situations and apply appropriate policies. 14. Serves as a professional role model and maintains high personal standards for service excellence, productivity, learning, cooperation, responsiveness, communication and optimism. Performs other duties as assigned. Work Experience Education and Experience 1. Five (5) years of progressive experience in Sleep Lab Testing, and Home Sleep Testing field. 2. In-depth knowledge of sleep medicine and associated therapeutic and diagnostic procedures and interventions. 3. Strong written and verbal communication skills. 4. BCLS Certified 5. Must be an RPSGT or an RST with an active Maryland State License. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 1. Ability to stand walk or sit for extended period of time. 2. Ability to extend hands or arms in any direction. 3. Ability to perform repetitive movements with hands and arms for extended period of time. 4. Communication skills. 5. ENGLISH is the spoken/written/read language.
