Job Description

SUMMARY The Slot Technician role is responsible for repair and preventive maintenance of slot machines.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for the repair and proper preventative maintenance of all slot machines including cleaning machines per maintenance schedule. Assists in conversions and slot floor moves in accordance with gaming regulations. Will break down, relocate and reset machines and stands as needed per project outline. Sets up and ensures new slot machines function properly. Responsible for completing all required logs per gaming regulations. Stays up to date on new machine functions and requirements in order to maintain good working order of equipment. Understands and able to perform testing of machines to ensure proper working order. Maintains, runs tests and completes replacements as required on machine software. Runs testing, reports and completes updates and repairs of accounting system & progressive reports. Understands how to update and ensure all progressives settings, values and reports are correct. Assists Slot Attendants in verifying jackpots as needed. Assists in ensuring machine integrity when jackpots occur and at other times as requested. Knowledge of local jurisdiction gaming regulations as well as the company's internal controls, policies and procedures. Brings disputes and unusual customer activities to the attention of the Shift Manager. Promotes positive customer relations through prompt, courteous and efficient service. Maintains a high level of confidentiality and professionalism. Responsible for the accuracy and thoroughness of all completed records and reports. Must be able to work the required work schedule, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays. Works physically onsite to manage business and interact personally with Team Members, vendors and guests. Ensures all safety standards are met and possible safety hazards are quickly resolved. Maintains a consistent and regular attendance record. Is a role model and champion of Prairie Flower Casino's Mission and Values.
REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES
Trade school degree highly preferred. High School or GED preferred. Minimum one year of electronic or mechanical experience required. Casino industry experience highly preferred. Excellent Guest Service and interpersonal skills required. Must be able to effectively use a computer as well as various software including Microsoft Office Suite. Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English in order to interpret and communicate written manuals or reports. Good written and oral communication skills required. Must be able to collaborate with other departments within the organization and external vendors to complete projects. Strong organization and analytical skills required. Ability to read, analyze, and act upon complex documents and reports necessary. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals, and work with mathematical concepts. Ability to define problems collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Must be able to maintain an appropriate Gaming License. Must have and maintain a valid driver's license with a safe driving record.
PHYSICAL, MENTAL, AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Regularly required to stand, walk, and sit. Using hands grasp, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls. Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crawl and crouch. Frequently required to lift or move up to 50 pounds. Occasionally required to lift or move up to 75 pounds. May occasionally be required to push or pull up to350 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include the ability to distinguish color, close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, increasing to loud when on the casino floor. This casino has an enclosed gaming area where smoking is allowed. Team members may be exposed to a smoking environment in or around this designated smoking area. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
