Job Description

Category Schools - SLP Job Type Contract To Hire Make a positive impact this summer by supporting students through Extended School Year (ESY) services. This contract-to-hire opportunity is perfect for a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) with a passion for helping students reach their communication goals. The assignment runs from July 7 through August 7, providing a unique chance to work within a dedicated school setting near West Warwick, RI, during the crucial summer months.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Current ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) Active state SLP license (or eligibility to obtain prior to start) Experience in a school-based or pediatric setting highly preferred Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills Understanding of IEP processes and ESY programming is a plus Ability to work independently while being a positive member of a multidisciplinary team
Responsibilities & Duties:
Provide direct speech and language therapy to students in accordance with their IEP goals Conduct progress monitoring and adjust therapy plans as needed for summer learning Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families to coordinate student services Maintain accurate documentation and complete required ESY reports Participate in team meetings and communicate progress to all stakeholders as needed Support students in developing communication skills that will help them thrive year-round Seize the chance to make a meaningful difference during the ESY period and see tangible progress in students' communication abilities.
