Job Description
Job Overview Join our dynamic summer camp team as a Soccer Coach - Camp Coach, where you'll inspire young athletes to develop their soccer skills while fostering teamwork, confidence, and a love for sports. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to lead engaging soccer activities, support campers' physical development, and create memorable experiences that promote healthy living and sportsmanship. Your energetic presence will motivate children to participate actively, learn new skills, and enjoy the game in a safe and supportive environment. We are seeking coaches with availability from May 27-29, 2026, 8:00AM - 1:00PM and June 10-12, 2026, 8:00AM-1:00PM. This specific camp will be held in Excelsior Springs, MO with players ages from 8-12. This position is seasonal with more opportunities to coach and be involved in other soccer events through Creating Space in Kansas City metropolitan area this summer. All coaches will receive Creating Space (Adidas) soccer attire for camp days, along with FIFA World Cup merch. College students/athletes are highly encouraged to apply! Duties Lead and organize fun, age-appropriate soccer drills, games, and activities that promote skill development and teamwork Provide clear instructions and demonstrate proper techniques for various soccer skills such as passing, dribbling, shooting, and defending Foster a positive team environment by encouraging good sportsmanship, respect, and cooperation among campers Ensure the safety of all participants by monitoring activities closely and enforcing camp rules Communicate regularly with camp staff and parents regarding camper progress and behavior management strategies Maintain equipment, set up activity areas, and ensure all safety protocols are followed during sessions Requirements Must be 21+ Must have reliable transportation Must have played soccer for at least 5 years Must be creative, curious & supportive Must complete GrassRoots coaching course through U.S. Soccer. (Can be completed after interview process) (Creating Space will cover cost if there is a fee) Prior experience in sports coaching, physical education teaching, or working with children in recreational settings Demonstrated knowledge of soccer rules, techniques, and drills suitable for various age groups Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate and engage young learners Ability to manage behavior effectively and create an inclusive environment for all campers Passion for teaching physical activity and promoting healthy lifestyles among children

This is a woman-owned soccer- based business that was created in San Francisco, CA in 2023. The Kansas City native owner has over 5+ years of coaching experience in California, Hawaii, Oregon, Washington and Seattle ranging from teams, camps, private trainings and much more. Creating Space is a multidisciplinary creative studio rooted in art, storytelling, movement, community, and self-expression. The project was created from a desire to build environments where people feel inspired, supported, connected, and free to be themselves. While Creating Space includes youth soccer camps and coaching experiences, it also exists beyond sport. It is equally connected to photography, visual storytelling, art, creative projects, and community-centered experiences. Creating Space reflects its founder's deep love for not only soccer, but also storytelling, creativity, human connection, and self-expression.
