Job Description
Overview At ARF Hamptons, every photo, video, and story has the power to change an animal's life. We are seeking a creative, passionate, hands-on Part-Time Social Media Coordinator to help grow and manage ARF's presence across Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok. This role is ideal for someone who loves animals, thrives in a fast-paced creative environment, and is passionate about storytelling through social media. The Social Media Coordinator will work on-site at ARF , capturing the moments that make our shelter special, from heartwarming adoption stories to behind-the-scenes content featuring our animals, staff, volunteers, and community. The ideal candidate is equal parts storyteller, content creator, and community builder, with a strong understanding of social media trends and a genuine connection to ARF's mission. Key Responsibilities Work closely with ARF's Social Media Manager and Director of Marketing to develop and execute engaging social media content strategies. Capture and edit high-quality photos and videos of adoptable animals, events, staff, and volunteers for use across social platforms. Create compelling, mission-driven content including posts, reels, stories, and TikToks that reflect ARF's voice and values. Write warm, funny and engaging copy that inspires adoptions, donations, event participation, and community engagement. Maintain a consistent posting schedule highlighting adoptable animals, rescue stories, ARF programs, events, and day-to-day shelter life. Monitor comments, messages, and community interactions in a timely, thoughtful, and professional manner. Stay current on social media trends, platform updates, and best practices to help expand ARF's reach and engagement. Track content performance and provide insights to help optimize future campaigns and growth. Collaborate with staff across departments to ensure social content supports organizational priorities and campaigns. Assist with live social media coverage during ARF events, adoption initiatives, and special programs. Assist with additional marketing and administrative tasks as needed to support the marketing team. Qualifications Experience managing and growing Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok accounts for a nonprofit, business, brand, or creator. Strong photography, videography, editing, and copywriting skills. Comfortable creating short-form video content and adapting to social media trends. Fluent in social media analytics, insights, and engagement strategies. Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work both collaboratively and independently with strong attention to detail. Must love animals, have a solid understanding of cat and dog behavior, and feel comfortable working closely with cats and dogs while photographing and filming them. Experience with Canva, Edits, CapCut, or similar editing tools. Passion for animal rescue and storytelling that inspires action. Weekend availability required. Bonus Qualifications Previous nonprofit, animal welfare, or community-focused marketing experience. Experience using the Adobe Creative Suite Why Join ARF Hamptons?
