Salary:
Up to•$89,133 per year•Exempt Under the general direction of the Board of Directors, the Director is responsible for managing the SWMD of SJC in compliance with applicable Indiana law. This includes coordinating efforts with the Board of Directors, Citizens Advisory committee, and related local and state units of government. The Director is responsible for managing the overall administrative, financial, and operational efforts of the SWMD. The Director is responsible for supervising and managing all SWMD staff and contracted personnel. The Director is responsible for managing contractional operations with vendors and contracted partners. This includes the issuing and monitoring of Requests for Proposals (RFP) which are used in negotiated acquisitions to communicate Government requirements to prospective contractors and to solicit proposals. The Director is responsible for meeting with other governmental agencies, citizen groups, and the public to present the SWMD programs, provide statistical information, and negotiate agreements as required. The Director works in conjunction with the SJC Auditors office for weekly bill vouchers, bi-weekly payroll, monthly fiscal reporting, and the preparation and proposal of the SWMD annual budget. All SWMD hiring, employee review, and discipline is the responsibility of the Director. Education and Experience Advanced Degree is preferred, but job experience is acceptable. A successful work history in Waste Management and Recycling, including hazardous waste, is endorsed. Must be able to present District goals/achievements to the Board and in public settings. This includes the County Council and other related agencies. The Director works with Attorney's and collection agencies to recover past due fees and assessments. The Director must be an experienced Administrator, supervisor, and motivator of people. They MUST be free from bias with regard to sex, race, color, gender identity, nationality and ethnic origin.
