The Prince George's County Health Department is currently seeking qualified applicants to fill a Planning Coordinator , (Planner IV ) grade G27 position, in the Office of Assessment and Planning Division . About the Position This is a senior-level professional and administrative position that will support agency planning efforts. The incumbent performs a variety of detail-oriented tasks and planning activities that require high levels of organization and critical thinking. Specific responsibilities include supporting the agency strategic planning process, leading agency quality improvement efforts, supporting the completion and implementation of an action plan for the State AHEAD model, and providing recommendations to align department efforts with various agency, County, and State plans. Work assignments performed with some level of independent judgement and initiative, within the scope set by the Office of Assessment and Planning and in alignment with agency goals. Work is performed under general supervision from the office of assessment and planning, and performance is evaluated in terms of its overall progress toward agency goals. This position can largely be performed remotely (per incumbent eligibility). About the Agency The Prince George's County Health Department's (PGCHD) vision is that all Prince Georgians are their healthiest at every age and every stage. Their mission is to lead, engage, and empower our community to work collaboratively towards disease prevention, health equity, and total well-being. The PGCHD works to protect and support the public's health through numerous services that range from restaurant inspections and disease tracking to care coordination and health promotion. The department is composed of four divisions: Behavioral Health Services, Environmental Health and Disease Control, Family Health Services, and Health and Wellness, supported by the Office of Administration, Office of Human Resources and the Office of the Health Officer. The mandate of the department has been, and will remain, broad. This plan emphasizes improving core functions and operations, including protecting the public from health threats, implementing strategies to support healthy living, and maintaining a focus on vulnerable populations, while developing efficient internal processes to support these activities. Support completion and implementation of the plan, meeting facilitation, project planning, and editing and publishing of the final document. Track and reporting on progress toward agency goals both internally and to external partners. Align agency goals with various other Department, County, and State plans. Perform duties related to agency Quality Improvement initiatives, including: Support the development and implementation of an agency quality improvement plan Provide support for agency quality improvement projects, providing general overall guidance and support on the PDSA process, as well as training in specific quality improvement tools and methods. Communicate updates on progress of quality improvement initiatives to senior leadership. Perform duties related to the AHEAD Model, including: Support the development and implementation of a collaborative AHEAD model plan. Engage with hospital partners and key stakeholders and facilitate planning meetings. Provide expertise and guidance on project planning and SMART goal creation. Perform other duties as assigned, including but not limited to: Provide additional support to agency planning efforts, including training and facilitation in project planning and project management. Create recommendations to align agency plans internally, and with other County and State plans. Minimum Qualifications Master's degree in business or public administration, urban and regional planning, environmental studies, economics, energy policy, urban studies, housing and community development, public health or closely related field. A minimum of three (3) years of responsible professional planning/program development experience in the area of assignment to include at least one (1) year of lead/supervisory experience. Possession of a valid state issued driver's license. Any equivalent combination of relevant training, education and experience may also be considered. Please note there is no equivalency for the required supervisory experience. Preferred Qualifications Experience with project planning and project management. Knowledge of quality improvement/performance management.

Conditions of Employment :
