Job Description
Our client is seeking an experienced Water Planning Manager to join their team in Arlington, VA. In this role, you will lead projects focused on water infrastructure planning, including water, wastewater, and stormwater systems. The position will center around sustainable design, strategic planning, and optimizing infrastructure to address the growing needs for resilient and sustainable water systems.
As a Water Planning Manager, you will manage complex projects that are crucial to the future of water infrastructure. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a variety of impactful projects that aim to improve water system planning and management.
Perform condition assessments for water, wastewater, and stormwater systems using modern tools and technologies.
Develop and manage engineering studies, master plans, asset management programs, and cost estimates for water, wastewater, reuse, and stormwater infrastructure projects.
Prepare technical reports, memoranda, and electronic deliverables, ensuring accuracy and quality in all project documentation.
Plan, schedule, and manage medium to large projects, ensuring they meet budget, schedule, and quality standards.
Foster and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure the successful delivery of projects.
Collaborate with internal teams, subcontractors, and external stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met.
Support business development efforts by assisting in proposal preparation and contributing to project pursuits.
Mentor junior engineers and staff, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
Lead efforts to identify and manage subconsultants working on various projects.
Engage in professional associations, contributing to the industry through presentations and technical papers.
Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE).Extensive experience in water, wastewater, stormwater, and reuse infrastructure planning, including condition assessments, master planning, modeling, and strategic system planning.
Strong background in asset management planning, capital improvement programs (CIPs), and system optimization.
Proficiency in hydraulic and hydrologic modeling for water, wastewater, and stormwater systems.
Proven ability to manage project budgets, schedules, and contractual obligations.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients and project teams.
Experience with modeling software such as InfoWorks ICM, InfoWater, SewerGems, WaterGems, PCSWMM, EPANET, and other industry-standard tools.
Familiarity with asset management software (e.g., InfoAsset Planner, Info360).Design and construction phase experience for large infrastructure projects.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.10+ years of experience in the water industry, with at least 5 years in project management.Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE).Extensive experience in water, wastewater, stormwater, and reuse infrastructure planning, including condition assessments, master planning, modeling, and strategic system planning.
Strong background in asset management planning, capital improvement programs (CIPs), and system optimization.
Proficiency in hydraulic and hydrologic modeling for water, wastewater, and stormwater systems.
Proven ability to manage project budgets, schedules, and contractual obligations.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients and project teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.NASSCO PACP/MACP/LACP
certification.Experience with modeling software such as InfoWorks ICM, InfoWater, SewerGems, WaterGems, PCSWMM, EPANET, and other industry-standard tools.
Familiarity with asset management software (e.g., InfoAsset Planner, Info360).Design and construction phase experience for large infrastructure projects.
