Job Description

The mission of the Louisiana Department of Health is to protect and promote health and to ensure access to medical, preventive, and rehabilitative services for all residents of the State of Louisiana. Learn more about Louisiana Department of Health Lead a vital part of Louisiana's Economic Stability and Self-Sufficiency Office and make a direct impact on the lives of residents in your parish or district. In this supervisory role, you will oversee Social Service Analysts and Economic Stability Specialists, ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of critical benefits programs such as SNAP, DSNAP, LaCAP, and Family Independence Temporary Assistance. This position offers the opportunity to guide a talented team, resolve complex client and staff issues, and help safeguard federal and state funding while advancing the mission of supporting economic stability for Louisiana families. Six years of economic stability social services experience; OR Six years of full-time work experience in any field plus three years of economic stability social services experience; OR A bachelor's degree plus three years of economic stability social services experience; OR An advanced degree in a social sciences field, business, public, or health administration plus two years of economic stability social services experience.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field. Job Duties:
Supervise Social Service Analysts and Economic Stability Specialists, including training staff, resolving disputes, approving leave, and conducting performance evaluations. Lead the resolution of client complaints and staff conflicts, conducting interviews and investigations as needed. Review subordinate work and cases for accuracy, timeliness, and completeness in determining eligibility for DSNAP, SNAP, LaCAP, Family Independence Temporary Assistance, Kinship Care Subsidy, and STEP program benefits. Ensure accurate data entry and maintenance on automated systems, including LITE, NAC, PESE, FileNet, and OnBase, and verify appropriate documentation and clearances have been completed. Identify error trends, develop corrective action plans, and provide individualized staff training as needed. Provide policy guidance and interpretations to staff, staying current on program regulations, updates, and training requirements. Develop, analyze, and present statistical and management reports to inform office operations, staff development, and process improvements. Build and maintain relationships with community partners to connect clients to services, strengthen support networks, and improve referral processes. Maintain readiness for disaster response, including activating staff calling trees and assisting with DSNAP eligibility during declared emergencies. Represent the office in community outreach, public forums, and events to increase awareness and participation in economic stability programs.

Compensation:
This position is eligible for the following Special Entrance Rates (SER): Economic Stability Supervisor - $24.35 hr / $ 1,948.00 bi-weekly, as well as a Premium Pay of up to $2.00/hr for hours worked based on longevity.
