$250,000 - $350,000, commensurate with experience Description The Andlinger Center for Energy and the Environment at Princeton University seeks a senior research scholar position within the Energy Systems Analysis Group. Individuals with a PhD and research interests in energy systems are encouraged to apply. The individual will lead the Center's multi-disciplinary collaborations seeking to better understand the opportunities and challenges facing the rapid decarbonization of major-emitting countries and sectors. This work builds on Princeton's influential Net-Zero America study and ongoing collaborations across the globe. The research aims to identify pathways to accelerate decarbonization of energy systems which effectively navigate bottlenecks, barriers and resistive forces. Increased temporal and spatial granularity, and deliberative engagement with companies, governments, and other stakeholders is paramount to enhance models and increase the robustness of insights that can help inform energy and industrial policies, identify needed technological and institutional innovations, and support behavioral changes. Qualifications A PhD is required in relevant field. Applicants should have a strong background in relevant energy systems science and/or energy-relevant fields of engineering, economics, or social sciences. We are specifically interested in candidates with leadership experience in building collaborative research initiatives, and/or leadership experience in the private sector, public administration, or NGO's, related to energy and industrial decarbonization. Candidates must have excellent English written and verbal communication skills. To be considered for this senior leadership position, candidates must have a documented record of impact in research through publications, entrepreneurship, policy and business influence, and/or leadership roles in relevant research, industry, government, or non-profit organizations. They must further demonstrate that they possess recognized distinction at a national and international level, demonstrated independence of thinking, innovation, creativity and initiatives in research, and mentoring.
