Job Description

Manager, Medical Economics & Business Analytics - Remote A leading healthcare organization is seeking a highly technical Manager-level professional to join its Medical Economics and Analytics team. This is a hands-on, player-coach role focused on delivering actionable insights that drive business performance across multiple markets. Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and develop a small team of analysts
  • Oversee analytics for multiple regional markets, delivering ongoing performance insights
  • Conduct total cost of care (TCOC) analysis and support medical economics reporting
  • Perform deep-dive, ad hoc analyses to inform key business decisions
  • Write, optimize, and review complex SQL queries across large healthcare datasets
  • Work directly with claims data to identify trends, opportunities, and risks
  • Train and mentor junior analysts, elevating technical capabilities across the team
  • Improve data quality processes and reduce reporting burden on senior leadership Required Qualifications
  • Strong, hands-on SQL and data programming experience (non-negotiable)
  • Proven experience working with healthcare claims data / medical datasets
  • Ability to generate insights and ensure data integrity in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience mentoring or training junior analysts in technical skillsets
  • Exposure to modern data platforms (experience with Databricks or similar cloud environments preferred; willingness to learn is essential) Preferred Background
  • Actuarial training or exam progress (ASA/FSA not required but a plus)
  • Prior experience in consulting environments (e.g., healthcare analytics or actuarial consulting firms)
  • Background in payer-side analytics, medical economics, or population health What We're Looking For

  • Strong technical depth-this is not a project management role
  • Someone who thrives in a hands-on environment and can translate data into business value
