Job Description

Health Economist Location:
Fully Remote (U.S.-based)
Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM About the Role We are seeking an experienced Health Economist to support a newly established Health Economics & Outcomes Research (HEOR) program. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping and leading high-impact projects that inform healthcare decision-making. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong applied health economics expertise, deep experience working with real-world data, and the ability to translate complex analyses into meaningful insights for diverse stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Lead HEOR projects independently from study design through execution and delivery Develop and implement health economic models, including: Cost-effectiveness models Cost-utility models Budget impact models Conduct advanced statistical analyses, including: Longitudinal and cross-sectional modeling Survival analysis Meta-analysis and mixed treatment comparisons Build and execute Markov (state-transition) models Analyze complex real-world datasets (e.g., EMR, claims data) Partner with clinicians, researchers, and internal stakeholders to translate business and clinical needs into analytical strategies Communicate findings through: Publications Abstracts Presentations Contribute to scientific communications, study protocols, and grant submissions Stay current with evolving HEOR methodologies, tools, and best practices Required Qualifications PhD in Economics, Public Health, Health Policy, Statistics, or a related field 3+ years of experience in health economics, health services research, epidemiology, or HEOR Demonstrated experience building Markov models Strong expertise in longitudinal and cross-sectional statistical modeling Hands-on experience working with real-world data (claims, EMR, etc.) Solid understanding of the U.S. healthcare system , including Medicare and Medicaid Proficiency in statistical programming (e.g., SAS, SPSS; R is a plus) Proven track record of peer-reviewed publications Excellent scientific writing and communication skills Strong stakeholder engagement and collaboration experience Highly organized with strong project management capabilities Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint Occasional team-building events (travel expenses covered) Location Requirement Candidates must be located in one of the following states: Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Orlando, FL.
