Job Description

The Senior Associate position will be an important member of the Northeast U.S. regional team. Within the U.S., RAP's Northeast region spans from Maine to Maryland and Washington, D.C. The ideal candidate would be located within this region, with a preference for significant experience in the Mid-Atlantic. The Senior Associate will support RAP's energy system reform efforts across the Northeast region and serve as an expert technical resource for decision-makers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Work closely with state and regional policymakers, funding sources, and other interested parties to design and execute new projects. Conduct research, policy analysis, and the creation of solutions to energy/climate/economic challenges facing government or other organizations. Actively support the development of RAP's thought leadership on energy policy. This will include outreach, providing technical assistance, writing and presenting to various groups and organizations. Develop and sustain relationships with key government, corporate, and non-governmental organizations to deepen RAP's understanding of the issues, support policy implementation, and develop policies and programs. Provide thought leadership through a range of communication channels, including speaking at and participating in conferences, writing blogs, participating in podcasts, and sharing thought leadership perspectives on social media. Collaborate with global team members to cross-pollinate insights and inform U.S.-focused work with global perspectives.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
An advanced degree in economics, engineering, policy, law, energy/environmental science or a related field or equivalent experience. Significant experience in the field of energy and environmental policy, with at least 8 years of professional experience. Seen as a respected peer by current energy regulatory practitioners.

Range:
$110-$130K
