Job Description
Staff Psychologist
D. in Counseling Psychology, Clinical Psychology, or closely related field. Only those who have held a license as a doctoral-level Psychologist (Illinois or another state) for a minimum of two (2) years will be considered. Active licensure by the State of Illinois as a Clinical Psychologist within six (6) months of hire is required. At least two (2) years of experience providing mental health services to college students or populations with trauma. At least two (2) years of experience providing clinical supervision to doctoral-level trainees. (This may include those trainees at the internship or post-doctoral level.) Preference will be given to candidates who have experience in working with a multi-cultural population and demonstrate a commitment to providing culturally competent services to our diverse student population. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Knowledge and experience in administration of psychological assessment tools including cognitive, achievement, and personality measures. Knowledge of clinical supervision theories and/or styles. Knowledge of individual and group psychotherapy and counseling theories and practices. Knowledge of case management and coordinated care techniques. Knowledge of treatment principles, modalities, and techniques. Knowledge of community resources and social service agencies. Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Excellent organizational skills. Skill in applying solid clinical judgment to cases. Ability to shift between clinical and non-clinical duties to meet organizational needs. Ability to work with and relate to a culturally diverse student body, faculty, and staff. Ability to work effectively with different levels of staff within the organization. - Wellness Center and under general supervision, the Staff Psychologist-Wellness Center (PT Exempt) provides a range of counseling and case management services to students, faculty, and staff.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
May be assigned by the Clinical Director- Wellness Center to provide as-needed day-to-day direction of clinical activities and monitoring of all trainee services provided.
