Inpatient Staff Psychologist Children's Specialty Group Norfolk, VA Job Details Full-time 12 hours ago Qualifications Doctoral degree in psychology Full Job Description Join the Child Psychiatry and Psychology division of Children's Specialty Group (CSG) at Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters (CHKD) in Norfolk, Virginia. CHKD is lighting the way to a brighter future for our children by transforming the way mental health care is delivered to children and teens. As part of CHKD's commitment to address a critical mental health crisis among youth, the health system is building a $224 million, 60-bed mental health hospital, which includes a partial hospitalization program and robust outpatient services. CHKD and Children's Specialty Group (CSG) are currently looking for an exceptional candidates to fill out inpatient child clinical psychologist position who will provide a full range of direct and indirect care service in an innovative interdisciplinary setting. Direct psychological services include evidence-based assessment and treatment to youth with acute mental health needs and co-occurring medical concerns and their families. Indirect patient care includes program development and teaching; collaboration with nursing, psychiatry, and pediatrics, and any other specialties as appropriate; and clinical supervision. Faculty appointment at Eastern Virginia Medical School is available for qualified individuals. Opportunities to conduct research are open to discussion.
Education:
Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, either PsyD or PhD from an APA/CPA accredited program, as well as completion of an APA/CPA accredited internship. Licensed, or eligible for licensure as a Clinical Psychologist by the
Commonwealth of Virginia, Board of Psychology Experience:
Previous clinical experience in pediatric/clinical child and adolescent psychology treating youth with complex psychiatric problems. Experience with implementation of evidence-based treatment approaches (e.g., DBT, PCIT, TF-CBT, FBT). Experience providing clinical supervision to mental health providers.
Skills:
Experience or certification in any of the below evidenced-based modalities preferred, advanced training in other modalities also considered: Parent Child Interaction Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family Based Therapy for Anorexia Nervosa, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy.
