Job Description:
Reviews, researches, and analyzes state rules and regulations to ensure compliance. Assists in the development of proposed legislative and regulatory changes to improve operations and support strategic initiatives. Develops strong working relationships with executives, regulatory agencies, and other internal and external stakeholders. Attends and actively participates in public workshops and rule hearings on behalf of the healthcare system and its facilities. Develops and maintains a regulatory tracker to monitor and track outcomes of proposed rules and regulations. Performs research on policy, government, and stakeholder issues as assigned. Actively participates and collaborates with the Government Advocacy team during and after legislative sessions. Reviews and responds to proposed or needed legislative changes. Collaborates with leaders across the organization to review the impact of regulations and assists in drafting positions and recommendations. Assists in the production of regulatory briefs at the end of legislative sessions and providing timely regulatory updates, as necessary. Assumes responsibility for professional growth and development. Performs special projects and other duties as assigned. Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Strong communication, analytical, interpersonal, organizational, writing and research skills [Required]
  • Extremely detail-oriented, organized and ability to prioritize without supervision [Required]
  • Strong project management skills (providing updates, ability to follow-through and achieve execution of department/organizational priorities) [Required]
  • Ability to multi-task and work under aggressive regulatory and/or internal deadlines [Required]
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills [Required]
  • Ability to work and learn independently, develop new ideas, maintain flexibility, and meet deadlines [Required]
  • Ability to constructively interact with a range of personalities at many levels internally and externally [Required]
  • Ability to work proactively and handle multiple tasks simultaneously [Required]
  • Proficiency in email, calendar, spreadsheet, presentation and word processing software (e.
g., Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) [Required]
Education:
  • Bachelor's [Required]
Field of Study:
  • Health Care Administration or related degree
Work Experience:
  • 2+ of work experience required, preferably in a related field. [Required]
  • Experience in government relations, public policy and health care setting [Preferred]

      Pay Range:
