Scope of Work (SOW) Scope of Work Support International Medical Corps (IMC)'s global and country-level extreme weather event programming through a series of small projects based on the intern's skills and thematic interests as well as evolving organizational priorities.
Illustrative project areas include:
1) Support development of training materials regarding the impact of extreme weather events/environmental stresses on health, including drafting or refining modules and preparing supporting slides or resources across priority technical areas.
2) Conduct focused grey literature or academic reviews on selected topics to inform technical guidance and decision making for adaptive, health resilience programming.
3) Assist with retrospective qualitative data collection and synthesis to contribute to QARI learning outputs.
4) Help enhance departmental data systems and supporting creation of simple dashboards and written or visual summaries.
5) Support survey tasks, including distribution, data cleaning, and analysis of country feedback on training rollout or other programming.
6) Contribute to continuous project learning initiatives.
The student will:
1. Gain foundational knowledge in adaptive, health resilience programming and how environmental stresses and extreme weather shape health risks and resilience strategies.
2. Strengthen research and analytical skills through conducting targeted grey‑literature and academic reviews that inform technical guidance and program adaptation.
3. Build qualitative and quantitative data competencies by collecting and synthesizing program insights, supporting survey analysis, and contributing to learning outputs.
4. Enhance data visualization and communication skills through improving departmental data systems and translating findings into clear written and visual summaries.
5. Develop professional communication and collaboration abilities by contributing to project learning initiatives and working with global, multidisciplinary teams. Minimum qualifications
- Current graduate student in public health, international development, social sciences, or related field
- Desk research experience (multi sector)
- Excellence in writing synthesis reports, briefs and other relevant documentation
- Ability to work across sector program areas including, health, WASH, nutrition.
