Job Description

Job Summary The Associate Executive Director serves as the second-in-command at KARP, Inc., working closely with the Executive Director to advance the mission of Kentucky's community mental health centers. This position is designed as a developmental leadership role, with the Associate Executive Director gaining comprehensive experience in legislative advocacy, organizational management, and stakeholder relations in preparation to assume the Executive Director position. The Associate Executive Director supports and participates in all major organizational functions while building the relationships, knowledge, and skills necessary for future organizational leadership. Duties Legislative Advocacy & Governmental Relations Participate in legislative advocacy efforts before the Kentucky General Assembly Assist in developing legislative strategies and position statements for Community Mental Health Center priorities Prepare policy briefs, legislative summaries, and advocacy materials Learn appropriations processes and budget advocacy strategies Policy Analysis & Research Research and analyze policy issues affecting community mental health centers including Medicaid, state and federal policy. Track federal and state regulatory developments impacting behavioral health services Coalition Building & External Relations Represent KARP at coalition meetings, workgroups, and collaborative initiatives as assigned. Build relationships with partner organizations, advocacy groups, and healthcare associations. Board Support & Governance Assist Executive Director in staffing Board of Directors and Executive Committee meetings Attend Board and committee meetings to provide support and gain governance experience
Pay:
$75,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
