BENEFITS QUESTIONS About this Job •This position is located in Baton Rouge, LA•Office of Fiscal Operations Job Focus Area This Budget Analyst position is located in the Office of School System Financial Services. This position serves as an analyst specializing in central allocation/award processing, allocation review and compliance verification, comprehensive reporting and analysis for all funds received an utilized by sub-grantees through awards from the Louisiana Department of Education. The duties of this position include specialized work relative to school finance issues including public school districts, Type 2, Type 3 and Type 5 charter school programs. The tasks performed by this position include program administration, programmatic review, program monitoring and extensive program evaluation and analysis. Candidates with the following skills and competencies are encouraged to apply:

 The ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and allocate time to ensure timely completion of work goals Minimum Qualifications Three years of experience in budget development or analysis, accounting, auditing, policy planning, procurement, contracts or grants management, project management, statistical analysis, or financial services; OR Six years of full-time work experience in any field; OR A bachelor's degree.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field. Job Duties and Other Information Job Duties:
As a Budget Analyst, the candidate will: Develop and prepare technical and complex allocations of funds for many various programs in effect in any given fiscal year Communicate with the data analytics staff to determine availability of data being used Perform analysis of data prior to using in calculations to identify anomalies Confer with department program managers and financial staff to resolve or identify potential budget problems. Maintain task calendar and work plan for projects, monitors stage of completion Provide technical assistance to recipients in the preparation and submittal of required forms, timelines, etc. Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedure (SOPs) as assigned

Appointment Type:
Probational, Promotional, or Job Appointment. The person hired for this position is expected to regularly report to the Baton Rouge office. Current permanent classified state employees may be required to accept a probationary appointment, if selected.
Career Progression:
This position participates in a Career Progression Group.

Work Schedule:
Work days are Monday•Friday; work hours will be determined.
Compensation:
The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience. •Note regarding the advertised pay range: The maximum amounts listed are the maximum salary amounts a person can make over their career and not the maximum amount we are allowed to pay a new hire.
