We are a large, multi-state psychiatry practice seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Part-Time Credentialing Specialist to join our administrative team. This role will be responsible for managing provider credentialing and recredentialing processes for New York and North Carolina, ensuring all clinicians remain compliant with insurance, regulatory, and organizational requirements. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with medical credentialing experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced healthcare environment and is looking for a consistent part-time schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage initial credentialing, recredentialing, and provider enrollment with commercial insurance plans and government payers. Maintain provider files and ensure all licenses, certifications, DEA registrations, malpractice coverage, and CAQH profiles are current and accurate. Submit and track credentialing applications for psychiatrists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, and other mental health providers. Communicate with insurance companies regarding application status, approvals, and updates. Ensure compliance with statespecific credentialing requirements in NY and NC. Maintain organized documentation and provide regular status updates to administration. Assist with provider updates, roster submissions, and payer followups when needed.
Qualifications:
Previous & proven medical credentialing experience required (behavioral health experience preferred). Familiarity with CAQH, NPPES, PECOS, and insurance payer portals. Knowledge of credentialing processes for commercial insurance and government payers. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple applications and follow up effectively.
