Job Description

End Homelessness Vermont (EHVT) is looking for an Administrative Support Specialist to join our team. We will be accepting applications until the position is filled. EHVT is a lived experience led organization that works toward the goal of ending poverty, disability discrimination and homelessness in Vermont. We provide a data-driven safety net to the safety net that is trauma-informed and rooted in compassion, empathy and Housing First principles. We work closely with teams of providers, helping people remain sheltered and addressing systemic barriers to housing.

The right candidate will thrive in a fast paced, dynamic environment. This position is in person at the Vermont Capitol in Montpelier Tuesday-Friday and some Mondays during the legislative session (generally mid January - end of May), and generally remote otherwise, with some in person days throughout the state.
Main Responsibilities:
This is a wide-ranging support role — no two days look exactly alike. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: Administrative & Operational Support Supporting the Executive Director and broader team with a variety of administrative and operational tasks Managing communications, files, spreadsheets, and organizational systems Helping maintain EHVT's digital presence and back-end systems Pitching in wherever the work takes you — we value flexibility, initiative, and willingness to learn Direct Service Support Assisting with fair hearings before the Vermont Human Services Board Supporting client intake and referrals through EHVT's crisis hotline Engaging with clients, providers, community partners, and volunteers in various settings across the state Legislative & Policy Support Monitoring bills and policy developments relevant to EHVT's work Qualifications Lived experience in homelessness, housing insecurity, and/or living with a disability preferred Strong organizational and computer skills Some experience in administrative work preferred Candidates who thrive in this role tend to be flexible, self-directed, and strong communicators — both in writing and in conversation. Some familiarity with Vermont's social services or housing systems is a plus, but not required.
