Location:
Campus, ILLINOIS Summary Under general supervision, the Undergraduate Research Intern provides entry- to intermediate-level support for applied research and community engagement projects within the Center for Regional Development (CRD). This position assists with data collection, organization, and basic analysis, as well as preparation of project materials and administrative support tasks. The role is designed to support student learning and skill development in research, data management, and professional workplace practices.

Essential Functions Research & Data Support Assist with background research Support survey distribution and data collection activities Conduct or assist with interviews and take structured notes Transcribe and organize qualitative data Enter, clean, and maintain quantitative data in spreadsheets or databases Assist with quantitative data analysis, interpretation, and visualization Project & Administrative Support Maintain organized project files and documentation Assist in tracking project tasks, timelines, and deliverables Prepare basic charts, tables, and summaries under supervision Provide general administrative support as assigned Communications & Engagement Support Assist with preparation of reports, presentations, and meeting materials Support logistics for meetings, events, and community outreach activities Interact professionally with team members and, when appropriate, community stakeholders Minimum Qualifications Current undergraduate student enrolled at Bowling Green State University Must be in good academic standing Ability to work the required schedule Preferred Qualifications Coursework or experience in research methods, statistics, or data analysis Interest in public policy, public health, economics, community development, or related fields Experience with surveys, interviews, or academic research assignments Additional Information Training will be provided. Successful candidates are expected to demonstrate reliability, initiative, and a willingness to learn. This role is structured to support and complement higher-level graduate assistant responsibilities while providing meaningful, hands-on experience in applied research. Receives general supervision from CRD professional staff and/or project managers. Work is assigned with specific instructions and reviewed for accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
