REACH Community Design in Physical Activity Community Liaison The Wellness Coalition Montgomery, AL Job Details Full-time $33,280 - $36,000 a year 1 day ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance Paid time off Qualifications Teamwork Architecture Administrative experience Driver's License Driving Computer skills Data collection Full Job Description Job Overview The Community Design in Physical Activity Community Liaison is for the agency's Racial and Ethnic Approaches to Community Health (REACH) cooperative agreement, emphasizing the development of community environments that support active lifestyles. This initiative is vital in planning and executing programs that enhance access to physical activity within underserved communities. This position is integral to TWC's Key responsibilities include collaborating with faith-based and local organizations throughout the River Region to educate them on REACH objectives related to physical activity and community design. The Liaison provides technical assistance and guidance to these organizations, ensuring they have the resources and knowledge needed to implement effective wellness programs. Additionally, the Community Design in Physical Activity Community Liaison coordinates and offers administrative support for various evidence-based wellness projects to increase access to resources to be more physically active. Duties Familiarization with
Evidence-Based Interventions:
Gain a comprehensive understanding of evidence-based community health interventions outlined in the REACH Work Plan, focusing on Wellness Case Management, nutrition, physical activity, and breastfeeding initiatives.
Planning and Implementation:
Collaborate in the planning and executing evidence-based interventions targeting nutrition, physical activity, and breastfeeding within River Region communities, as detailed in the approved REACH Work Plan.
Community Site Development:
Support recruiting and developing new community sites to deliver services and educate local populations about relevant interventions. Support for
Policy and Systems Change:
Promote and support the activities of REACH River Region organizations related to policy, systems, and environmental changes that encourage healthier lifestyles. Technical Assistance at
Community Meetings:
Attend community meetings to offer technical assistance in grant implementation and outcome measurements and ensure activities align with the established timelines.
Building Partnerships:
Develop partnerships with community agencies to leverage existing resources and enhance capacity for sustainable programs focused on physical activity and community wellness.
Resource Presentation and Distribution:
Deliver engaging presentations on REACH resources and the program's mission, distributing educational materials to community groups, agencies, businesses, and healthcare providers to increase awareness of available support.
Site Visits and Monitoring:
Conduct site visits to gather reports from community organizations receiving sub-awards and ensure that agreements and guidelines meet REACH objectives. Participation in
Healthy Lifestyle Campaigns:
Support and actively participate in community-based healthy lifestyle campaigns and events throughout the year to promote physical activity and the resources The Wellness Coalition provides.
Health Insurance Outreach Support:
Assist community volunteers with health insurance outreach and enrollment activities, fostering access to essential health resources.
Program Evaluation Data Collection:
Ensure accurate and timely collection of program evaluation data from sites, contributing to ongoing assessments of program effectiveness.
Progress Reporting:
Help prepare required progress reports, providing detailed insights into program developments and successes. Updates on
Program Components:
Attend Program Update meetings to provide updates on the progress and impact of program components, fostering transparency and collaboration.
Additional Support:
Assist the REACH Program Coordinator with additional responsibilities as needed, contributing to the overall success of community health initiatives. Required Qualifications Candidates must possess a degree in Community Design, Landscape Architecture, Architecture, urban design, or a related field and experience in participatory design processes, community engagement, and project management. Additional certifications in urban planning, landscape architecture, or sustainable design may be beneficial. Applicants must comprehensively understand community health interventions and the resources available within the River Region. Practical written and verbal communication skills are necessary for engagement, and collaborating with diverse communities is essential. The ability to work independently, organize tasks efficiently, and utilize computer technology is necessary. Candidates must maintain a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends. A valid driver's license is required.
Pay:
$33,280.00 - $36,000.00 per year
