Job Description

Firm Overview Shutts & Bowen LLP is a full-service, AmLaw 200 law firm that has provided high-quality legal services to businesses and individuals for over a century. With 8 offices across Florida, Shutts & Bowen offers legal services in more than 30 practice areas to its clients locally, nationally and internationally. Shutts & Bowen's attorneys work in an environment where they are recognized for their value as individuals, giving them the autonomy and freedom to best serve their clients. Position Description Shutts & Bowen is seeking a mid to senior-level associate to join our prominent Land Use and Zoning Practice. The role focuses on advising developers, property owners and investors on zoning, land use and development-related matters, including site plan and entitlement considerations, permitting and regulatory compliance. The associate will work closely with clients and project teams to navigate local and state government processes and provide strategic guidance on development risk and regulatory positioning. The attorney will be resident in either our Miami or Fort Lauderdale office. This is an excellent opportunity for an associate seeking meaningful responsibility and exposure to a broad range of land use and development matters within a well-established practice. Qualified candidates will have 5+ years of experience practicing land use and zoning law. Strong analytical, drafting and communication skills are required, along with admission to the Florida Bar. Strong academic record preferred.
