Position Summary We are seeking an experienced and self-sufficient Transportation Planner to lead and execute nationwide move planning operations. This role is responsible for independently managing complex routing, optimizing driver utilization, and ensuring seamless coordination across company drivers and carrier partners. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with deep expertise in OTR CDL planning, capable of building efficient routes with ease while maintaining full compliance with FMCSA regulations. This individual will serve as an integral part in operations, partnering with drivers, dispatch and at times carrier planning to drive performance, efficiency, and service quality. Key Responsibilities Independently plan and coordinate nationwide household goods and commercial moves for in-house OTR CDL drivers. Develop efficient, cost-effective routes while maximizing driver productivity and utilization. Manage complex and high-volume schedules, including multi-stop, expedited, and long-haul relocations. Oversee and ensure accurate execution of move plans, providing clear instructions and expectations to dispatch and drivers. Collaborate with carrier planning to align company assets and third-party carriers with demand. Maintain real-time visibility into driver availability, load status, and capacity planning. Make proactive operational decisions to resolve service challenges, delays, or capacity constraints. Ensure full compliance with FMCSA regulations, including Hours of Service (HOS) requirements. Review and maintain accuracy of all planning data within the Transportation Management System (TMS). Provide leadership, guidance, and best practices to planning and dispatch team members. Continuously identify opportunities to improve routing efficiency, service performance, and operational processes. Required Skills & Competencies Advanced routing and logistics planning expertise with the ability to build efficient routes quickly and accurately. High level of independence, accountability, and decision-making capability. Strong leadership presence with the ability to influence cross-functional teams. Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with sound operational judgment. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Deep understanding of U.S. geography and long-haul logistics operations. Required Qualifications Minimum 3+ years of experience planning OTR CDL drivers in a transportation or logistics environment. Proven track record of independently managing complex nationwide routing and scheduling. Strong working knowledge of FMCSA regulations and Hours of Service (HOS). Experience working with Transportation Management Systems (TMS). Experience managing or mentoring planners, dispatchers, or logistics teams. Background in high-volume, time-sensitive logistics operations.
