Manufacturing Full Job Description Overview:
This position is for the EB Hawai'i Maintenance & Modernization Site in Honolulu, HI. This is a Planner position in support of the Maintenance and Modernization organization. The successful candidate filling this position will be required to perform Detail Planning, Production Control Planning, Advanced Planning, including material control and warehouse functions. These assignments include, but are not limited to, drawing reviews, MRP file load, product structuring, load or coordination of SWSS and CPJ, work order management, software and hardware expediting in support of work order schedules, change processing, and work order close out. The candidate will be required to assist operations management with material coordination, warehouse picks and expediting material to and from off-site buffers. Candidate must have a basic understanding of manufacturing processes and ability to understand of delivered submarine work packages and processes (including TGIs, JFMM-compliant processes, etc.). Ability to read engineering drawings and blueprints is necessary to perform at a high level. Candidate should also have an understanding of the
EB/DLDR SPARS
& Oracle Requisition Process. Successful candidate must be able to interface with Engineering, Operations, Government Entities and other support organizations at various levels to organize work and resolve problems as related to shop production and material control. The successful candidate filling this position will be called upon to represent planning/material at various construction status, process improvement, and program review meetings. The successful candidate will be expected to be aware of and in compliance with those attributes of safety, quality, cost, schedule, and process improvement.
Qualifications:
Required:
High School Diploma or GED 2+ years of professional working experience in a relatable field Experience in developing work orders and utilizing various Electric Boat systems such as
SPARS, EWP, MRP II
Experience in reading and understanding Task Group Instructions (TGIs) Experience in supporting Alteration Installation Team (AIT) work (including installation & material kitting) at an Electric Boat off-site location Must be able to read and interpret blue prints Must be highly organized and detail oriented Must be proficient in using basic computer programs such as Outlook, Excel, Word, etc… Must be able to obtain a
DOD SECRET
Security Clearance Must be willing to travel and work overtime & weekends as required to support project demands. Travel may be expected for up to 1 year at a time and must be able to travel anywhere within the continental United States or Guam. Preferred 10+ years Electric Boat experience in planning, material control, HAZMAT control and warehousing 10+ years planning experience in various planning functions (ex: production planning, detail planning, etc…) 10+ years of experience in supporting Alteration Installation Team (AIT) work in a public shipyard
Skills:
Computer skills in Word, Excel, Power Point, Cornerstone, ERS/EWP, MRPII, and Microsoft Outlook are necessary to successfully perform this assignment The candidate must possess strong analytical, causal analysis, communication, organizational, planning, and writing skills under minimal supervision The successful candidate will be expected to know, comply with and participate in site improvement goals for Safety, Quality, Cost, Schedule and Continuous Improvement Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required
