What you'll do on a typical day:
  • Manage domestic and international shipments; maintain associated documentation, including reporting development and analysis
  • Coordinate, schedule and manage all outbound shipments per client requirements
  • Monitor and manage shipments using internal and external client systems
  • Oversee all international logistics support activities including shipping and compliance with customs regulations
  • Data management and integration from multiple data sources
  • Communicate with business partners, internally and externally, to ensure on time delivery
  • Partner with internal stakeholders, clients, brokers and carriers to build and maintain strong relationships within logistics, and distribution
  • Interact with internal operations team, approved carriers, brokers and/or freight forwarders to resolve issues
  • Drive and complete special projects as needed
  • Assist with evaluating employee performance, providing written and verbal feedback What you need to succeed at
GXO:
At a minimum, you'll need:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work or military experience
  • 2 years of experience in the field of domestic and international logistics management
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office It'd be great if you also have:
  • Warehousing or Third-Party Logistics (3PL) experience
  • Knowledge of all modes of domestic and international transportation, including an understanding of comparative differences between various modes and the effects of those differences
  • Understanding of TMS, WMS and manifesting software as it relates to logistics applications
  • Thorough knowledge of common logistics-related documentation, including bill of lading, standard claims forms, MSDS, commercial invoice, Shipper's Letter of Instruction, export filing, etc.
  • Understanding of concepts that affect transportation costs and transit times, seasonal capacity, air/ocean, transit time requirements, freig.
