Job Description

The town of Plymouth seeks qualified applicants for the position of
TOWN PLANNER
(EM4) for the Planning and Development department. Responsible for technical and administrative work in providing information, organizing and coordinating the programs and decisions that shape both the short-range and long-range plans of the community. Ensures compliance with conditions imposed on new commercial development through the special permit process; ensures compliance with conditions imposed on new subdivisions and ensure all legal documents are properly executed. Assists the Planning Board by preparing agenda items, including recommendations on zoning and subdivision issues before the town. Proposes amendments to the town's zoning bylaw and subdivision rules and regulations; administers planning and development related grants received by the town. Provides technical assistance to town departments and committees/task forces in planning matters with respect to the development, coordination and facilitation of programs relating to the physical and economic development of the town. Bachelor's degree in planning or related field; five years of experience in municipal planning, or a related field; master's degree in planning or related field preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Certification by the American Institute of Certified Planners preferred.
Annual Salary:
$86,160.36 - $107,174.08, 37.5 hours per week. This posting will remain open through May 18. Applications will be reviewed upon receipt.
