Job Summary:
Rogue Valley Council of Governments seeks to hire F/T Associate Transportation Planner for its office in Central Point, Oregon. Reviews transportation system and plan documents; recommends transportation system improvements or projects based on regional data. Researches transportation planning issues, collects and compiles data, determines scope of study, and defines project schedule supporting transportation planning. Analyzes and verifies project compliance with Federal, State and local regulations. Maintains Transportation Improvement Program for regional Metropolitan Planning Organizations (MPOs). Coordinates with local jurisdictions and state and federal agencies on MPO functions. Creates reports and presents reports to committees, advisory boards, councils, commissions, civic groups, and citizen committees. Responds to inquiries about specific programs, activities, and services. Provides transportation planning support to citizen and intergovernmental committees. Cooperates and collaborates with local jurisdictions and state and federal agencies involved in the MPO process. Travel in the two-county area (Jackson/Josephine) to various meeting sites (not employer's offices) up to 5% of the time is required; travel to other parts of the state of Oregon or nationally (not employer's offices) may occasionally be required in evenings and/or weekends to attend meetings up to 5% of the time.
