DESCRIPTION
Own the analytical programs that improve how Amazon plans and moves packages across one of the world's largest transportation networks. In this role, you'll turn complex data into actionable planning solutions that directly reduce delivery costs and accelerate speed for hundreds of millions of customers. If you thrive at the intersection of supply chain strategy, data analysis, and cross-functional influence, this is your opportunity to drive visible, measurable impact at unprecedented scale. Key job responsibilities Analyze delivery performance across the North American transportation network to identify improvement opportunities, then lead programs from business case development through implementation and impact measurement Develop and maintain automated reporting mechanisms and dashboards that enable operations partners to monitor planning health indicators and make data-driven decisions at scale Influence cross-functional leaders across operations, science, and technology teams through compelling data narratives to drive alignment on planning improvements without direct authority Partner with Data Engineers, Data Scientists, and Product Managers to translate business requirements into technical solutions that improve forecast accuracy and planning mechanism reliability Retrieve, synthesize, and act on complex datasets using SQL, Excel, and ETL tools to identify root causes of planning variance and recommend corrective actions A day in the life You start the day reviewing forecast and capacity inputs, identifying where network variability creates risk. By mid-morning, you're analyzing planning data to diagnose root causes of performance gaps across transportation nodes. After lunch, you facilitate a cross-functional discussion with operations and data science partners to align on a proposed planning mechanism improvement. You spend the afternoon building a business case for your initiative, using SQL to validate assumptions and quantify expected impact. Your day wraps with stakeholder updates, sharing progress on your improvement programs and removing blockers to keep delivery timelines on track. About the team The Plan Improvement, Network Flow, and Explainability (PINE) team stewards the Network Flow Plan across Amazon's outbound transportation network—spanning first-, middle-, and last-mile operations. We bridge technical innovation with operational execution to improve forecast accuracy, plan adherence, and network alignment. Our work transforms planning gaps into scalable solutions that directly enhance how Amazon delivers for customers. We value intellectual curiosity, data-driven decision-making, and collaborative problem-solving in a fast-paced environment where your contributions visibly improve the transportation experience for millions of customers daily.
