SUMMARY:
The School Counselor supports students' academic, career, and social-emotional development by providing guidance on course selection, college and career planning, and personal challenges. They collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to foster a supportive learning environment, implement intervention strategies, and address student needs. Counselors also conduct individual and group counseling sessions and assist with crisis intervention, and ensure compliance with state educational policies. Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills are essential.
QUALIFICATIONS
Master's Degree; previous experience and/or training preferred. Appropriate valid Illinois Professional Educators License with SrHS school counseling endorsement.
