Parrish Elem/Jr High - Counselor (Antcipated Vacancy)

Certified Position - Elementary/Jr.

High Counselor Counselor:

Must hold a valid Alabama Teacher Certificate with certification and HQ status in guidance and counseling. Must be able to implement a comprehensive counseling and guidance program that follows a planned calendar of activities for all students. The job goal is to provide students with educational and personal counseling and to identify and coordinate all resources to empower students to reach full potential. Must have a knowledge of and be able to call upon all resources and services available for student assistance. Must be skilled in conducting individual, small group and large group counseling. Reports to Principal and/or Counselors Supervisor 202 Duty Days Salary Range - Based on the WCBOE Salary Schedule. The salary listed does not reflect the 2% raise for the 2026-27 school year. (Dependent of highest degree approved by the ALSDE and years of full-time, verified teaching experience) •Applicants selected for certified positions must have undergone an ABI/FBI criminal history background check (fingerprinting administered through sites selected and approved by the WCBOE and State of Alabama Education Department) and been declared suitable and fit to teach under state law.
