Job Description

Jackson County Board of Education announces the following vacancies. Applications should be submitted through the HireTrue Website. Applications will be accepted until the positions are filled. School/Worksite Title Job Description Qualifications Salary Posting Dates North Jackson High School Part-time Counselor (not to exceed 25%) Develop, implement, and evaluate an annual local school guidance and counseling plan in accordance with standards set forth by the State Plan and commensurate with the local system plan. Provide individual and group counseling and guidance. Provide orientation for new students and parents/guardians. Consult with parents/guardians, teachers, and staff concerning the special needs of students and make appropriate referrals. Coordinate student admissions, orientation, and class scheduling. Coordinate, analyze, and interpret test results to provide information about educational, vocational, and personal/social needs. Assist with placement and follow-up services for students. Assist students in selecting programs of study to enhance career planning. Provide information and resource services for students, parents/guardians, and faculty. Assist students in building self-esteem and developing decision-making, problem-solving, and positive human relations skills. Plan with teachers, principal, parents/guardians, and students steps for modifying student behavior. Utilize community resources in addressing the needs of students. Provide data concerning student needs to determine curricula development. Coordinate state mandated student tests. Maintain comprehensive records and reports. Exhibit positive human-relations skills. Any and other essential functions assigned by the Superintendent or his/her designee. M.S. degree with proper State of Alabama Certification 3 years teaching experience Jackson County Salary Matrix June 23, 2026, through July 8, 2026, or until filled.
