Master's Degree in Related Field Preferred License Associated Counselor (LAC) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card {Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Governing Board may find appropriate and acceptable}

JOB GOAL
To support the District's commitment to student's holistic development. By providing direct supports to students and collaborating with stakeholders including: administrators, principals, teachers, parents and community partners, Coordinator develops supports and resources that promote social-emotional growth and development, and a positive school climate of safety and inclusion.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
Creation and implementation of resources that promote students' social-emotional development and well-being. Consults with staff to provides support regarding mental health development and academic impacts. Offers in-services to staff to enhance knowledge and skills in social-emotional development and trauma impact. Ensures that social-emotional growth and development is included in ECAP activities that enhancing the future success of students Assists in the development and inclusion of SEL supports at each MTSS level of intervention from Universal through Tier 3. Provides one-on-one and group supports to students to increase social-emotional development in the areas of self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationships skills, and responsible decision making. Is available and ready to assist in crisis management and de-escalation of students struggling with self-management. Maintains a safe environment with a variety of opportunities for students to explore and practice self-regulation strategies. Develops and supports in school programs and activities to build a positive school climate and culture of engagement. Works collaboratively with community agencies to promote and enhance mental health resources and training to students and staff. Connects with parents/guardians/care givers to explore concerns and develop holistic plans to meet student's needs. Offers parent in-services to promote healthy social-emotional development within family and community Stays current on best practices for social-emotional learning and trauma informed schools. Uses data and best practices to assess short-term and long-term program needs and outcomes
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Ten-month employee. Salary and work year to be established by the Governing Board
