Immediately Job Description Counsels individuals and provides group educational and vocational guidance services by performing the following duties. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Collects, organizes, and analyzes information about individuals through records, tests, interviews, and professional sources, to appraise their interests, aptitudes, abilities, and personality characteristics, for vocational and educational planning.
• Compiles and studies occupational, educational, and economic information to aid counselees in making and carrying out vocational and educational objectives.
• Consults with teachers, staff and parents to enhance their effectiveness in helping students learn.
• Refers students to placement service.
• Assists individuals to understand and overcome social and emotional problems.
• Engages in research and follow-up activities to evaluate counseling techniques.
• Teaches classes as needed Basic Skills
• Ability to maintain rapport and composure with parents, students, staff, and the general public.
• Ability to establish supportive relationships
• Facilitative skills
• Ability to provide brief "short term" counseling
• Understanding of group dynamics and group learning activities
• Understanding of family systems
• Knowledge of peer programs
• Knowledge of multi-cultural and cross-cultural approaches, educational and community resources for special school populations Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

A.) in Counseling, minimum of two years experience preferred Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Valid AZ Guidance Counselor Certificate, Valid AZ Fingerprint Clearance Card
