Job Description

Category Schools - Counselor Job Type Contract Empower students to thrive both academically and emotionally in a dynamic, supportive school environment. This contract opportunity is ideal for a dedicated School Counselor or Social Worker passionate about making a meaningful impact. As a full-time member of the team for the entire school year, you'll collaborate with educators and families to nurture the social, emotional, and academic growth of students.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Valid ADE Endorsement as a School Counselor or Social Worker (required) Previous experience in a K-12 educational setting is highly valued Ability to develop rapport and communicate effectively with students, staff, and families Strong problem-solving and crisis intervention skills Demonstrated cultural competence and sensitivity working with diverse student populations Proficiency in group facilitation, conflict resolution, and individual counseling Organized, positive, and a flexible team player
Key Responsibilities:
Provide individual and group counseling to support student well-being, academic achievement, and social development Assist students in overcoming obstacles affecting their performance or attendance Collaborate closely with teachers, administrators, and families to address student needs and coordinate interventions Develop and implement programs for conflict resolution, peer relationships, anxiety management, and positive school climate Maintain accurate and confidential records in accordance with ethical and legal standards Participate in student support team meetings, staff development, and professional growth opportunities As a valued member of the school community, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping a nurturing, inclusive environment where every student has the resources and support they need to succeed.
