Job Description

Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Support a high school student as a dedicated 1:1 paraprofessional in a contract role scheduled from August 2026 through June 2027. This position is designed for professionals with experience providing academic assistance to individuals with high functioning autism. You'll play a vital part in fostering an inclusive learning environment while working closely with the student, educational staff, and family.
Qualifications & Experience:
Background as a paraprofessional, preferably within a school setting Direct experience supporting students with high functioning autism Ability to provide patient, individualized academic support Strong communication skills to work with students, teachers, and families Reliability and adaptability in managing daily tasks and unique needs High school diploma or equivalent (additional relevant certifications a plus)
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver 1:1 academic support to a high school student throughout the school day Collaborate with teachers to modify or implement curriculum accommodations Encourage the student's independence, engagement, and confidence Support the student's social, behavioral, and organization goals Document observations and progress, sharing relevant information with the educational team Assist with classroom routines, transitions, and participation in school activities This contract position offers you the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in a student's academic and personal growth.
