In this role, you will serve as a vital resource for students, providing personalized advising, mentoring, and support to foster their success. Your energetic approach will inspire students to engage actively with their education, while your transparent communication will ensure they understand their options and pathways clearly. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students' lives while developing your expertise in education administration and student counseling. Duties Conduct individual and group counseling sessions to assist students with academic planning, career exploration, and personal development. Provide comprehensive academic advising using systems like PeopleSoft and Ellucian to track student progress and registration details. Assist students in understanding university policies, degree requirements, and available resources through clear, positive communication. Support recruitment efforts by engaging with prospective students through presentations, campus tours, and outreach activities. Mentor students by offering guidance on time management, study skills, and balancing academic responsibilities with personal commitments. Collaborate with faculty and staff to develop tailored educational plans that align with each student's goals. Maintain detailed records of advising sessions, student progress, and follow-up actions using university information systems such as PeopleSoft. Skills Strong public speaking skills to confidently present information to groups of students or at recruitment events. Proficiency with Ellucian or similar student information systems for data analysis and record keeping. Excellent interviewing skills to assess student needs effectively during counseling sessions. Experience mentoring students and providing individual or group counseling in an educational setting. Knowledge of education administration processes, including registration procedures and academic policies. Effective communication skills to clearly convey complex information in an engaging manner. Familiarity with university environments, including working with diverse student populations and understanding campus resources. Strong analysis skills for evaluating student data, academic performance, and program outcomes. Background in recruiting prospective students through outreach initiatives or campus events.
