The Better Without It® (BWI) Diversion Program supports students via an enhanced group counseling model following a first-time, school-related drug offense through education, accountability, and prevention-focused programming.Responsibilities :
- Facilitate Thursday night group counseling sessions for middle and/or high school students (the specific evening may change if circumstances require it)
- Lead and support completion of the BWI student project
- Assist with intake interviews and discharge sessions as needed (discharge includes drug testing and parent/legal guardian discussion)
- Maintain basic documentation and collaborate with program staff
Qualifications :
- Background in counseling, education, social work, prevention, or related field
- Experience working with youth preferred
- Strong group facilitation and communication skills
- Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Master's Level Certified Addiction Professional (MCAP), Certified Addiction Professional (CAP), or Master's Level Counselor with verified experience in substance misuse counseling, youth counseling or other equivalent experience.
