Job Description

Position Overview:
Our school is seeking a compassionate, student-centered School Counselor who is passionate about supporting the whole child —academically, socially, emotionally, and physically. This role is deeply rooted in our school-wide mission of

Role Focus:
Unlike traditional counseling roles that may be heavily involved in compliance paperwork, our School Counselor is not responsible for IEP or 504 documentation or case management . Those responsibilities are supported by our dedicated ESE teachers and team. Instead, the School Counselor's primary focus is: Supporting students' social-emotional well-being Providing individual and small group counseling Promoting positive behavior supports and emotional regulation strategies Collaborating with teachers to integrate SEL into daily instruction Supporting classroom community building, including morning meetings Helping students develop healthy relationships, resilience, and self-awareness Social-Emotional Learning (SEL)
Commitment:
SEL is not an add-on at our school. It is a core practice. We actively integrate SEL into our daily routines through: Morning meetings that build trust, connection, and belonging Classroom practices that foster empathy, communication, and collaboration Ongoing relationship-building between students and staff School-wide emphasis on emotional literacy and mindfulness
Ideal Candidate Will:
Believe deeply in whole-child education and restorative practices Be enthusiastic about movement, wellness, and creative approaches to learning Enjoy collaborating with teachers to embed SEL into classroom life Be student-centered, relationship-driven, and emotionally attuned Support a positive, inclusive, and nurturing school culture We pay MORE than the public school system. We offer a monthly benefit stipend in place of health insurance, as well as generous PTO. You must be school counselor certified in order to apply.
Pay:
$52,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
