Full-time About Us:
Somerset Academy Wellington is a high-performing, tuition-free K-12 public charter school dedicated to academic excellence, character development, and personalized student growth. We are seeking a dynamic, certified School Guidance Counselor to join our team for the upcoming school year and support our students' academic, emotional, and social success.
Job Description:
The School Guidance Counselor will provide comprehensive school counseling services to students in grades K-12. This individual will be responsible for helping students achieve academic success, develop career and college readiness skills, and address personal and social development needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Academic Support:
Guide students in academic planning, goal-setting, and course selection. Identify at-risk students and implement intervention strategies. Support transitions between elementary, middle, and high school levels.
College & Career Readiness:
Assist middle and high school students with career exploration and post-secondary planning. Support students with college applications, scholarship resources, and financial aid processes. Coordinate college fairs, testing information (e.g., SAT, ACT), and career presentations.
Personal & Social Development:
Provide individual and group counseling on issues such as conflict resolution, anxiety, bullying, and peer relationships. Act as a liaison between students, teachers, parents, and outside support services. Promote positive behavior and a safe, inclusive school environment.
Program Leadership:
Implement a comprehensive, developmental guidance program aligned with school goals. Maintain accurate, confidential student records in compliance with legal and ethical standards. Participate in school-wide initiatives, meetings, and professional development.
Qualifications:
Master's degree in School Counseling (required) Valid Florida Certification in School Counseling (required) Experience in a school setting (K-12) preferred Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, diverse school environment

From $53,250.00 per year
