Job Announcement - School Counselor (2026-2027) Quitman County is seeking a qualified and dedicated individual to join our team as a School Counselor. As a vital member of our educational community, the School Counselor will play a crucial role in supporting the academic, social, and emotional development of our students.

Full-time Responsibilities :
Provide individual and group counseling to students to address academic, personal, and social issues. Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to identify and address the unique needs of students. Develop and implement comprehensive school counseling programs to promote academic success and personal development. Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify students' strengths, challenges, and appropriate interventions. Facilitate workshops and seminars on topics such as study skills, stress management, and career planning. Support students in the college and career exploration process, providing guidance on post-secondary options. Respond to crisis situations and provide immediate support to students in need. Maintain accurate and confidential student records in accordance with school policies and legal requirements. Stay informed about current trends, resources, and best practices in school counseling.
Qualifications :
Master's degree in School Counseling or a related field. State certification/license in school counseling. Proven experience in providing counseling services to students. (Preferred) Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues. Knowledge of current educational and counseling practices.
