Job Description
The Eagle Grove School District is seeking an Elementary School Counselor, serving grades PS-4 for the 2026-2027 school year. Professional who supports young students' academic, career and social-emotional development to help children build foundational life skills, manage emotions, and navigate personal or behavioral challenges to ensure a safe, successful learning environment.
Responsibilities Social & Emotional Growth:
Provide brief, solution-focused individual and small-group counseling to help students cope with issues like grief, anxiety, bullying, and family changes. Classroom Guidance:
Teach developmental lessons on topics like respect, empathy, and decision-making to entire classes. Academic Support:
Identify and address barriers to learning, such as poor attendance or classroom behavior, by assisting teachers with management strategies and goal setting. Collaboration:
Partnering with parents, teachers, and administrators to identify barriers to learning and create holistic support plans for students. Family Resources:
Connecting students and their families to outside mental health services, basic needs resources, and community assistance. School Safety & Advocacy:
