Immediately Job Description GMG is looking for an Elementary School Counselor who helps students develop socially, academically, and their personal skills. They also will help students overcome obstacles that may affect their learning. Some responsibilities of an elementary school counselor include:
Providing Support:
Counselors help students build confidence, develop study skills, and prepare for the next grade. They also support students morally and mentally, and are aware of the social issues they face.
Identify Strengths and Weaknesses:
Counselors help students identify their strengths and weaknesses, which can help them set realistic goals.
Provide Guidance:
Counselors provide academic, educational, and short term social and emotional advice to students. They will also teach guidance classes and offer resources to families. Meeting with
Students:
Counselors provide information to help new students get acclimated to the school. Following up with
Students:
Counselors may follow up with students who need extra support.
