DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, teachers and staff members, administrators, and other district personnel; Maintain accurate and confidential student records in accordance with district, state, and federal guidelines. Adhere to ethical standards established by the American School Counselor Association. Participate in professional development and ongoing training opportunities. Maintain effective collaboration and communication with staff and administration. Work effectively with students of varied backgrounds and abilities; Maintain student and district confidentiality; Provide individual and small-group counseling for students experiencing academic, behavioral, emotional, or social concerns. Support students with conflict resolution, peer relationships, self-regulation, and coping strategies. Respond to crisis situations and provide appropriate intervention and follow-up support. Assist students in developing positive decision-making and problem-solving skills. Support attendance improvement efforts and behavioral intervention plans. Monitor student academic progress and collaborate with teachers and administrators to support student achievement. Help students develop organizational, study, and goal-setting skills. Participate in MTSS/RTI, 504, IEP, and student support team meetings as appropriate. Assist with student scheduling, transitions, and academic planning. Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student needs and available supports. Connect families with school and community resources when appropriate. Collaborate with outside agencies and mental health providers to support student success. Promote a positive school climate and student-centered culture. Participate in schoolwide initiatives related to behavior, attendance, safety, and social-emotional learning. Assist with student orientation, assemblies, advisory activities, and prevention programs. Serve as a resource to staff regarding student mental health and behavioral supports. Perform professional responsibilities; Other duties as assigned.
