Join Innovative Scholars as an Academic Coach , working within Chicago Public Schools' Title I academic programs to support K-12 students in developing essential executive functioning skills t hrough initiatives, dedication, and efficient implementation. As part of our targeted executive functioning program , you'll help students build a toolbox of strategies that foster independence in the classroom, at home, and eventually, in their careers. You'll deliver one-on-one academic coaching sessions, teaching students crucial skills like task prioritization , homework management , and goal setting . In this role, you'll create a safe and positive learning environment, collaborate with school administrators , i ntervention specialists , teachers , and parents , and use data-driven approaches to improve student outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 Academic Support in executive functioning skills for students in grades K-8 (9-12) based in data driven instruction Guide students in essential strategies, such as , material management, study strategies, time management , learning strategies , goal setting , and decision making. Establish a positive learning environment focused on safety, respect, and rapport. Administer and evaluate academic diagnostic and formative assessments to track progress. Set SMART goals for students, using data to inform lesson planning and instructional strategies. Collaborate with Intervention Specialists , school staff, and parents to support student progress. Complete administrative tasks, including case notes , progress reports , and compliance with Title I requirements . Gather appropriate referrals, parent notification forms, and devise a schedule in order to service students. Facilitate and/or participate in parent workshops on executive functioning strategies. Use the Google Workspace platform (Gmail, Google Drive, etc.) to complete daily tasks. Participate in staff meetings and training sessions, both in-person and virtually.
Qualifications:
Minimum 1 year of experience teaching executive functioning skills to K-12 students. (Required) Understanding of executive functioning principles and experience in assessing needs, analyzing student data, setting goals, and delivering instruction. (Required) Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education, Psychology, Counseling , or Social Work . (Required) Certification in Executive Functioning from an accredited program. (Preferred) Licensure or certification in Education , Special Education , School Counseling , Social Work , Occupational Therapy , or Speech-Language Pathology .
