TRIO Counselor

The University of Saint Francis in Fort Wayne, Indiana invites inquiries, nominations, and applications for the position of TRIO Counselor. Saint Francis is a Catholic, Franciscan university in the liberal arts tradition. The TRIO Counselor will report to the Director of TRIO Services and will have responsibility over developing and supporting functions that lead to student success, ensuring the university's Catholic identity, Franciscan charism, and commitment to the liberal arts remain at the center of our educational mission and public identity. The TRIO Counselor is responsible for assisting the Director of TRIO Services in advancing the university's efforts in implementing the new mission statement and strategic plan. The successful candidate will support low-income, first-generation, and underrepresented students through academic advising, college and career planning, financial aid guidance, and personal support, and the qualities we are looking for include strong communication skills, empathy, cultural awareness, organization, problem-solving ability, a calm and patient demeanor, a genuine passion for working with students, knowledge of college access, and a clear commitment to student success and equity. The new TRIO Counselor is expected to begin serving no later than 5/25/2026.
