We are accepting applications for either a Professional School Counselor or a School Social Worker and will fill one position based on the candidate whose strengths and experience best align with the needs of our students and school community. $47,900 (per negotiated agreement; placement on salary schedule based on education and experience){additional days paid at daily rate}

100% coverage Blue Cross/Blue Shield single coverage health insurance tier 1 or 2 (or 92% of tier 3) Position Purpose The Grades 7-12 Professional School Counselor provides a comprehensive school counseling program that supports students' academic achievement, career and post-secondary planning, and social-emotional development. The counselor works collaboratively with students, staff, families, and community partners to ensure all students are prepared for graduation and post-secondary success. Essential Functions Comprehensive School Counseling Program Design, implement, and evaluate a standards-based school counseling program aligned with district and state expectations. Deliver classroom guidance lessons focused on academic skills, career awareness, and social-emotional learning. Provide short-term individual counseling and small group interventions. Support students in developing graduation plans and Individual Plans of Study (IPS), where applicable. Assist students with course selection and academic planning. Post-Secondary & Career Readiness Guide students in exploring post-secondary options including college, technical training, military service, and workforce pathways. Support college application processes, financial aid completion (FAFSA), scholarships, and career exploration. Coordinate testing programs as assigned (e.g., ACT, state assessments). Student Advocacy & Support Monitor academic progress and intervene with at-risk students. Participate in MTSS, 504, and other student support teams. Respond to crisis situations and provide appropriate referrals to outside agencies. Maintain confidentiality in accordance with ethical and legal standards. Collaboration & Communication Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff to address student needs. Communicate effectively with families regarding student progress and available resources. Serve as a liaison between school, home, and community agencies. Participate in professional learning and maintain required licensure. Required Qualifications Valid Kansas License as a Professional School Counselor (PreK-12 or appropriate grade level). Master's degree in School Counseling. Knowledge of adolescent development (grades 7-12). Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience in both middle school and high school settings. Experience with college and career readiness programming. Experience with MTSS and data-driven decision making. Knowledge of graduation requirements and post-secondary pathways. Physical Requirements Ability to perform routine office and school-related duties. Ability to respond promptly in crisis situations.
